Student Support Clinics are held throughout the week during term time. The clinics are staffed by clinical doctors, who act as Medical Student Support Tutors and are available to discuss any academic or pastoral issues of concern with you or your personal tutor.
Bookings for Student Support Appointments should be made at Medical Student Records and Support Office in Room G46 of the Rockefeller Building, or by using the email address.
Peer Support is all about students helping students. The group coordinators and facilitators are UCL students trained by charities such as Student Minds or ReThink Mental Illness. There are a number of different types of peer support available:
Student Psychological Services provides a professional resource for students who are facing emotional and psychological problems. They currently have two psychiatrists and ten therapists. Students are encouraged to refer themselves. Waiting times vary according to demand and information about the likely delay is regularly updated on the website. They provide:

Students with mental health difficulties of a more than temporary nature may benefit from the non-therapeutic support that can be arranged by Student Disability Services.
Staff in Student Disability Services can advise on, and liaise with other staff in, the implementation of appropriate, reasonable adjustments to teaching and learning in individual cases.
Whether you have been diagnosed with a psychiatric condition, have a mental health difficulty such as anxiety or depression, or you are concerned about how you are feeling, then you are encouraged to contact the Student Disability Services team who will offer you a confidential meeting with their Mental Health Specialist.
The personal tutoring system at UCL Medical School (UCLMS) seeks to provide every student with a supportive mentor; someone whom you get to know, who maintains regular contact with you, who is accessible and to whom you can turn for support in times of trouble.
If you are living in UCL Student Accommodation, wardens may be your first point of contact if you have a personal or academic problem. They will assist wherever they can, working with Student Support and Wellbeing Services to help you to resolve problems.

This is a national, informal, peer-to-peer support network aiming to foster a compassionate and supportive atmosphere throughout the NHS which accommodates for all levels of anonymity.
The ‘Anxiety: Beat it and Regain Peace’ online e-course is available to UCL students for free for 6 weeks. This is a course of short lessons of empirically proven techniques to overcome your anxiety. You can follow the lessons at a time and pace that is most convenient to you.
Offers ongoing counselling and regular appointments. The Doctors Advisor Service runs alongside BMA Counselling, giving doctors and medical students in distress or difficulty the choice of speaking in confidence to another doctor.
Offers confidential listening, support and practical information service for students in London. You can talk to them about anything – big or small – in complete confidence. Nightline won’t judge you or tell you how to run your life: they'll simply listen to whatever is on your mind.
Provides information on a range of topics including types of mental health problem, where to get help, medication and alternative treatments, and advocacy.
Offer a safe place for you to talk any time you like, in your own way – about whatever's getting to you. You don't have to be suicidal to talk to us.
